8th Day of the Week
EIGHTH DAY OF THE WEEK is a game about escaping the grind, and staying awake for 7 days while enduring everyday life and a specter of sleep debt you leave behind, all to get a taste of unlocking the secret eighth day of the week
This is a gameĀ of long term sleep deprivation, complicated relationships with the self, fluctuating debt of the self, of sleep, to an entity that is too vindictive to be considered a force of karma.
The player seeksĀ to stay awake for each day, making the conscious decision every 24 hours to keep going, while racking up SLEEP DEBT which can eventually lock them out of the possibility of discovering the extra day eighth if their debt ends up being too high.
Players navigateĀ rollable tables that degrade as the game progresses in order to either stave off debt or accumulate it, and get glimpses of the debtor that seeks to leverage it to gain control of your life.
